Sunday 6th April was the backdrop to the Roaring Lions
football club been utterly devastated by the Sunset
Attackers. The first half seemed all blurry as the
Attackers displayed their hallmark passes, spreading the
field and making shots to goal count. Such was the tenacity
of the Attackers that they pounded home four first half
goals. It seemed as if the Roaring Lions FC were paralyzed
and unable to respond to the goals being scored.Shocked
and wounded, the Lions tried to salvage some pride in the
second half, as G. Benjamin and K. Assent connected to score
two goals.
Defensive guru Claudius Connor was encouraging his former
team to reduce the space for the offensive players and
squeeze the play to a particular direction. Unfortunately
neither occurred but humanely the game ended shortly after.
The massacre ended with a 5:2 victory for the Attackers over
the Roaring Lions.
The win gave the Attackers the title of Knock out
champions. In the regular league, the Attackers FC were the
champions, second place went to Kicks United FC and third
place went to the Roaring Lions FC.
Following the game the Football Association distributed
awards for the 2007-2008 season:
