The Governor's Office
has announced that
outgoing Governor Mr.
Andrew George
accompanied by Mrs.
George, left the island
on Wednesday 11. March
2009 on completion of
his tour of duty. The
outgoing Governor is
expected to retire from
diplomatic service. Mr.
George had served in
Anguilla since July
of 2006.
The office also
announced that until the
new Governor, Mr.
Alistair Harrison, takes
up his appointment the
Hon Deputy Governor, Mr.
Stanley Reid, will act
as Governor and Mr.
Larry Franklin PS
MICUHAF will act as
Deputy Governor.
Mr.
Alistair Harrison was
received in audience by
The Queen and kissed
hands upon his
appointment as Governor
of Anguilla, according
to published information
from Buckingham Palace.
It is expected that Mr.
Harrison will take up
his appointment in April
2009.
