(The Valley, Anguilla) - As part of its commitment to
recognising and rewarding positive contributions of young
persons to the community, the Optimist Club of Anguilla
inviting any young person between the ages of 13 to 30 to
apply for the ‘Youth in the Community Award.’
The objective of this competition is to identify and reward
young people who are currently working on projects that
benefit the youth of Anguilla.
The activity or project must:-
o Directly benefit the youth of Anguilla.
o Be ongoing
o Have a social, educational, cultural, sportsmanship or
other positive contribution to the youth.
o Be Not-for-Profit.
Entry forms are available at the Public Library and the
General Post Office. Further information is also available

The winner of the competition will receive a gift voucher
for a 2 nights/ 3 day stay at Ku and a monetary prize which
must be utilised for the project.
The submission deadline for applications is Friday, June 26,
2009. Submissions should be made to Youth In the Community
Award, Optimist Club of Anguilla, P.O. Box 1347, The Valley.
The Optimist Club is a voluntary organization of
civic-minded men and women banded together in the modern
tradition for progressive thought and action in community
service. The Club focuses on a variety of activities that
are intended to contribute to the development of thoughtful,
successful and conscientious young people who will be the
foundation on which Anguilla can build its future.
