Students celebrate Anguilla's 40th Anniversary of the Revolution that gave birth to modern day Anguilla.
 

May 29, 2007: Primary School students in Anguilla were out in great numbers today at the Ronald Webster park on Tuesday to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of  the Anguilla Day revolution and in there own way pay tribute to the revolutionary leader Mr. Ronald Webster.  The event included a colorful march through the Valley to Webster's park, followed by a vibrant ceremony hosted by Dr. Linda Banks beautifully adorned in the colors synonymous with Anguilla's revolution.

Dignitaries in attendance included, Mr & Mrs Ronald Webster, Former Chief Minister Sir Emile Gumbs and his wife and  Mr & Mrs Andrew George, Governor of Anguilla. The Chief Minister and members of his government were in also in attendance for some of the event.













 
The students were treated to exciting educational stories and tidbits, by Iwandi and Linda Banks in addition to performances by All-Ah-We dance group, the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Choir, the Central Christian School Choir and others. At the end of a fabulous color filled dance on the open field, white, orange and aqua marine balloons were released into the stiff breeze which blew them well into the lower Valley. 



All the stands of Webster's park were overflowing with a very appreciative mass of youngsters who were then allowed to have the rest of the day away from school.
